I am a writer living in the Pacific Northwest.
Originally from eastern Maine, I earned an MFA from Indiana University and a PhD from the University of Kansas.
My debut novel, My Dark Vanessa, a New York Times and Sunday Times bestseller, was shortlisted for the Dylan Thomas Prize and translated into over thirty languages.
